At Tiny Treasure Co, we want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. This Returns & Refund Policy explains your rights and our procedures regarding returns, exchanges, and refunds in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection laws.

1. Change of Mind Returns

If you purchased a product through our online store and simply changed your mind, you may request to return eligible items within 7 days of receiving your order, subject to the provisions of applicable South African law.

To qualify for a return:

The item must be unused and in its original condition.
It must be returned with all original packaging, tags, and accessories where applicable.
You must provide proof of purchase.
The customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning the item unless otherwise required by law.

Once the returned item has been inspected and approved, we will process your refund using the original payment method, less any lawful deductions where applicable. South African law provides certain cooling-off rights for qualifying online transactions and allows consumers to cancel within prescribed periods.

2. Defective, Damaged or Incorrect Items

If you receive an item that is:

Defective,
Damaged upon delivery,
Incorrectly supplied, or
Not materially as described,

please notify us as soon as reasonably possible and provide photographs where applicable.

Where required by law, we will arrange for the return of the product at our expense and, after assessment, provide one of the following remedies:

A replacement;
A repair (where appropriate); or
A full refund.

Under the Consumer Protection Act, consumers generally have rights relating to defective goods for up to six months after delivery.

3. Hygiene and Safety Products

For health and hygiene reasons, certain products cannot be returned once opened or used unless they are defective or supplied incorrectly.

These may include, where applicable:

Opened teething products;
Personal care items;
Products that cannot safely be resold due to hygiene considerations.

4. Personalised or Custom-Made Products

Custom-made or personalised items created specifically for you cannot be returned or refunded unless they are defective or were supplied incorrectly.

5. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are generally not eligible for return unless required by law:

Gift cards or vouchers;
Clearance or final sale items marked as non-returnable;
Used, washed, altered, or damaged products caused by misuse;
Products returned without proof of purchase where verification is not possible.

6. Refund Process

Once we receive and inspect your returned item, we will notify you whether your refund has been approved.

If approved:

Refunds will be processed to the original payment method wherever possible.
Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Shipping fees are generally non-refundable unless the return results from our error or a defective product.

7. Exchanges

Where stock is available, we may offer exchanges for eligible items. If the requested replacement is unavailable, a refund or store credit may be offered in accordance with applicable law.

8. Return Instructions

To initiate a return, please contact our customer support team with:

Your order number;
The product(s) you wish to return;
The reason for the return; and
Photographs if the item is damaged or defective.

We will provide instructions on how to return your item.

9. Your Consumer Rights

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under South African consumer protection legislation. Where this policy conflicts with mandatory legal protections, the applicable law will prevail. The CPA provides protections for defective goods, and qualifying online transactions may also be subject to cooling-off rights under the ECT Act.
